Ravinder Arora has been nominated as the new district (urban) president : Ludhiana, May 19

A prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and state convener of party’s industry cell Ravinder Arora has been nominated as the new district (urban) president in place of Parveen Bansal.
State BJP chief and Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla announced the new district president of the party last evening.
Considered close to veteran party leader Sat Pal Gosain, who has held the posts of deputy speaker and a Cabinet minister in the SAD-BJP government during its previous term, it would be a tight rope walk for the new incumbent to take along the other powerful groups of the party led by deputy chairman of Punjab State Planning Board Rajinder Bhandari on the one side and the outgoing president Parveen Bansal on the other, feel party insiders.
An elated Ravinder Arora said his appointment as the new district chief of the party had come on a historic day when the party had scored a landslide victory in the Assembly elections in Assam and the foundation had been laid for the first-ever BJP government in the north-eastern state.
In an interview with Ludhiana Tribune, Arora stoutly denied that there were any groups within the party at the district level. He said he did not belong to any group nor would he let anybody create factionalism in the party.
“It will be my endeavour to make sure that all party leaders work in unison to strengthen the party and take the cadres along,” he said.
“I am a dedicated worker of the party and will take every leader and worker along in strengthening the organisational base of the BJP in the city so as to ensure that the SAD-BJP alliance gets the mandate of the people once again in the Assembly polls scheduled to be held next year,” Arora said.
The new district president of the party said his sole agenda was to make the district BJP a cohesive unit which ought to maintain a constant interaction with the people and redress their grievances. He said every worker would be appropriately adjusted and given due recognition in the new district and mandal-level party units.
Arora said once the organisational set up of the party was in place in the city, the party would launch a drive to propagate the policies launched by the NDA government, led by Narendra Modi, for the welfare of every section of the society.
